Gnomes Without Homes also provides gnome owners a place to go to look for their gnome, leave messages for their gnome and possibly reunite with a long-lost gnome. In addition, gnome liberators can post messages about the gnomes they have - whether on tour or hidden in a sancutary.

For decades, garden gnomes have increasingly become the target of liberationists. The most infamous "gnomers" are France's "Front de Liberation des Nains de Jardins" (Release of the Dwarves of Gardens) and Italy's Movimento Autonomo per la Liberazione delle Anime da Giardino or "MALAG" (literally translated: Independent movement for the Liberation of the Spirits from Garden). Some gnomes have been sent on fabulous trips around the world, and the photographs of the happy gnome posing at various world landmarks are then sent back to the owner. The real question is: do gnomes get frequent flyer miles?
